An Evening at the Paramount

Reasons I want to be Esperanza Spalding:

1. The name {Esperanza} is about 1,000 times more interesting than {Jennifer}.
2. She has the best hair style ever!  It's the hair I have always wanted but will never have (sniff, sniff).
3. She has AMAZING natural musical talent (IMHO, teaching herself how to play the violin before the age of 5 counts as natural talent).
4. I love that she is leads her band, sings, AND plays the bass - all at the same time!  And she writes her own music.
5. She has incredible vocal range.
6. Her band, The Chamber Music Society, consists of two violinists, a cellist, a pianist/keyboardist, a drummer, and another vocalist - not your typical jazz band composition.  
7. They were FUN FUN FUN to see in concert on Saturday night at the Paramount Theater in Oakland. Part of SF Jazz Fest. A great show!
